Use Brazil, France, Spain, Portugal, and Italy
The field contains a check key for the combination of bank number and bank account number.
Use USA
In the USA, it must be decided whether this field is a savings or a checking account (if a value is not entered, the default value 01 is used).
- 01 Checking Account
- 02 Savings Account
Use Japan
In Japan, the field content shows the account type. This information is taken from the payment medium print program to the payment medium. The following account types are, for example, used:
- 01 FUTSU (rough equivalent of a savings account)
- 02 TOUZA (rough equivalent of a checking account)
- 04 CHOCHIKU (rough equivalent of an investment account)
- 09 Other bank accounts.
Use South Africa
In South Africa, this field is used to show the account category. The information entered here is transferred to the bank that is dealing with the payment order. The following account categories are allowed in ACB format:
- 01 Current (Checking) Account
- 02 Savings Account
- 03 Transmission Account
- 04 Bond Account
- 06 Subscription Share Account
Use Argentina
In Argentina, the account category is specified:
- CC Current Account (Cuenta corriente)
- CA Savings Account (Caja de ahorro)
- CE Special Savings Account (Caja de ahorro especial)
- CS Salary Account (Cuenta sueldos)
Use Venezuela
In Venezuela, the account category is specifed:
- CC Checking Account (Cuenta corriente)
- CA Savings Account (Cuenta de ahorro)
- CE Special Savings Account (Cuenta de ahorro especial)
- CS Salary Account (Cuenta sueldos)
Use Mexico
In Mexico, this field contains a two-figure key for the classification of the bank account, for example, as a savings or checking account that has a different definition according to the bank.
