Definition
For the calculation of the total variance in Cost Object Controlling, this specifies that the target costs are calculated in the standard cost estimate of the material.
- For the calculation of the production variances, the target costs are calculated in the preliminary cost estimate of the production order or process order or product cost collector (planned costs).
- For the calculation of the planned variances, the target costs are calculated in the standard cost estimate of the material.
In Cost Center Accounting, variances are always calculated with reference to the planned costs of the cost center.
