Use
Automatic date determination is performed using a baseline date (for example, the contract start date) and a date rule (for example, the contract start date plus one month).
Example
The billing plan start date is determined on the basis of the contract start date plus one month. When you enter the contract start date, the system automatically determines the billing plan start date by adding one month to the contract start date. This date is then entered in the billing plan. The billing plan start date can then be used as the baseline date for determining other dates such as the billing dates for the billing plan.

Use
If this indicator is not set in Customizing, then the system does not create dates for the periodic invoicing plan, but it copies the header data from the purchase order. This allows you to copy only the header data of the purchase order and then enter your dates manually.
Automatic date creation uses a base date (e.g. the contract start date in the purchase order) and a date rule (e.g. contract start date plus one month).
