Documentation
Definition
When you save an SD document, the system automatically:
- Costs any remaining uncosted sales document items, or
- Costs and marks any remaining uncosted sales document items.
Use
Set this indicator according to how you want costs to be planned and updated in sales-order-related production.
Procedure
- Enter A if you want the sales document item to be costed automatically when you save the document.
- Enter B if you want the sales document item to be automatically costed and marked when you save the document.
This is particularly useful for sales order related mass production, if you want to use costing to evaluate the sales order stock.
- Enter nothing if you want to be able to cost a sales document item manually in the sales document.
Dependencies
If you enter B but cost the sales order manually, you will also need to mark the sales order costing yourself.
Performance
Remember that automatically costing and marking items each time you save will affect system performance.
Determining variances for valued sales order stock
If you are using a valuated sales order stock, you can determine variances and evaluate scrap for the production orders or process orders assigned to the sales order item.
The system thus determines the total variance by comparing the target costs (calculated using standard price and the yield) with the control costs. In this case, these are the net actual costs.
The standard price with which the valuated sales order stock is valuated can:
- Correspond to the standard price of the normal warehouse stock
- Be calculated based on a defined strategy sequence.
You control this in the requirements class with the Without val. strategy indicator. See also: Valuation strategy for valuated sales order stock
If you calculate the variance using a standard price that was determined by sales order costing, then the sales order cost estimate should be given the status 'marked'.
Results Analysis with a Nonvaluated Sales Order Stock
You must create a sales order cost estimate if you are working with the nonvaluated sales order stock, and if you want to analyze results for stock valuation, taking into account the planned costs determined by sales order costing.
