Definition

Split shares for weekdays Monday through Sunday control how the system splits weekly or monthly schedule lines in a forecast delivery schedule into daily schedule lines in the planning delivery schedule.

The system:

  • Determines the split shares for the days of the relevant weekly or monthly schedule line
  • Calculates the sum of the split shares
  • Assigns the schedule line quantity from the forecast delivery schedule to the appropriate days in the planning delivery schedule

    The system assigns this quantity to days according to the proportion of split shares to the sum of the split shares.

The procedure used for rounding quantities and holiday rule may influence the split.

If you do not enter any split shares, the system will not copy schedule lines to the planning delivery schedule.

Use

Using split shares, you can define a finely-tuned split or a more general split according to your planning requirements.

Examples

  1. Split shares: Mo = Wd = Fr = 1, Tu = Th = Sa = Su = 0
    1. Schedule line for week 25.1998 (06/15 - 06/21) with 600 pieces

      Split: The system splits the quantity into daily schedule lines for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Split share sum = 3

      Result: Schedule lines for days 06/15, 06/17 and 06/19 with 200 pieces each
    2. Schedule line for month 07.1998 (07/01 = Wednesday) with 1820 pieces

      Split: The system splits the quantity into daily schedule lines for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the whole month. Split share sum = 14

      Result: Schedule lines for days 07/01, 07/03, 07/06, 07/08, 07/10, 07/13, 07/15, 07/17, 07/20, 07/22, 07/24, 07/27, 07/29, and 07/31 with 130 pieces each
  2. Split shares: Mo = 15, Tu = 30, Wd = 15, Th = 30, Fr = 10, Sa = Su = 0
    1. Schedule line for week 25.1998 (06/15 - 06/21) with 600 pieces

      Split: The system splits the quantity into daily schedule lines for days Monday to Friday. Split share sum = 100 (Practically speaking, this is a split based on percentages).

      Result: Schedule lines for days 06/15 with 90 pieces, 06/16 with 180 pieces, 06/17 with 90 pieces, 06/18 with 180 pieces, and 06/19 with 60 pieces
    2. Schedule line for month 07.1998 (07/01 = Wednesday) with 1820 pieces

      Split: The system splits the quantity into daily schedule lines for days Monday to Friday for the whole month. Split share sum = 455

      Result: Schedule lines for days (Mondays and Wednesdays) 07/01, 07/06, 07/08, 07/13, 07/15, 07/20, 07/22, 07/27, and 07/29 with 60 pieces each; (Tuesdays and Thursdays) 07/02, 07/07, 07/09, 07/14, 07/16, 07/21, 07/23, 07/28, and 07/30 with 120 pieces each; (Fridays) 07/03, 07/10, 07/17, 07/24, and 07/31 with 40 pieces each
  3. Split shares: Mo = 1, Tu = Wd = Th = Fr = Sa = Su = 0

    Schedule line for month 07.1998 (07/01 = Wednesday) with 1820 pieces

    Split: The system splits the quantity into daily schedule lines for Mondays for the whole month. (Practically speaking, you are splitting monthly schedule lines into weekly schedule lines). Split share sum = 4

    Result: Schedule lines for days 07/06, 07/13, 07/20 and 07/27 with 455 pieces each
