Definition
Short name for a field
Each field can have a short name. This must begin with a letter, which can be followed letters, digits and the underscore _ . Short names in a query must be unique, i.e. a short name can apply to only one field.
The following names are reserved and therefore cannot be used as short names for fields:
AND, DIV, MOD, NOT, OR
All names of symbols and icons are also reserved. These names begin with SYM_ or ICON_ . To avoid errors, you should therefore refrain from using names beginning with these suffixes.
Supplementary Documentation - AQ_KNAME 0110
Use
A field needs a short name if it is to be used in the definition of a local field for inheriting attributes or for calculation purposes, or if the field contents are to be placed in a header.
Procedure
Enter short names for the fields you need for the definition of local fields, or if their values are to be used as headers.
Examples
Dependencies
On the screen, you can enter short names for all the fields of the functional area. The short names of local fields are also displayed, but you cannot overwrite them here.
Supplementary Documentation - AQ_KNAME 0220
Use
All local fields have a short name. They are defined locally within the query and are additional to the fields in the functional area.
Procedure
Enter a short name for the local field.
