Definition

Path where the file manager finds the source file. This path is dependent on data carrier type (for example, PC with Windows NT operating system) and workstation application (for example, Word).

Use

For example, you can create a source file in WS application Microsoft Word for a letter. This file contains certain data (such as sender, address, and other text elements) and a style sheet.
Whenever you create a new original application file in WS application Microsoft Word from your document info record, the data in the source file is copied to the new original application file, where you can edit it.

Dependencies

You must also make the following settings:

  • Enter 2 as application type for the combination data carrier type and workstation application (change).
(Define workstation application, Navigation step Define workstation application in network ).
  • Enter the name of the template file.
(Define workstation application, Navigation step Determine copy template for original application file).
