Definition

The number of offset days for non-dailies determines the number of days which must be taken into account when checking the closing date for the order items (for all insert publications).
If you do not make any entries for insertions, the data entered for the carrying publication automatically applies to all insertions.

Meaning of Order Deadline Limit in Days and Limit Time for Order Deadline Limit

The deadline limit in days and the limit time per day serve to determine the order deadline limit. Both entries define the day up to which the shipping date can be set at a particular time.

The order deadline limit defines the determining factors for executing the function 'Set shipping date'. This function controls the following:

  • The start of shipping
  • The time from which changes to orders can be accepted

Meaning for shipping processing:

The order deadline is determined on the basis of the current date, meaning that the system determines for the current date (and the current time) the number of days for which the function 'Set shipping date' can be carried out.

How is the order deadline determined?

In order to determine the days for which the function 'Set shipping date' can be executed, the order deadline limit in days is added to the current date.
This arrangement only applies up to the limit time for the current date. It the limit time is past, the order deadline limit for the following day applies.

Example:

Order deadline limit in days for Monday : 2 days
Limit time for Monday : 12:00:00
Order deadline limit in days for Tuesday : 2 days
Limit time for Tuesday : 12:00:00

Meaning for order processing:
This has no effect. Order processing is based on a status table managed by the function 'Set shipping date'.

Meaning for shipping processing:
On a Monday, the shipping date and thus also the order deadline for Monday and Tuesday, but not for Wednesday (Wednesday = Monday + 2 days), can be set up to 12:00:00.
If the shipping date is set on Monday after 12:00:00, the order deadline limit for Tuesday already applies, so that you can set the shipping date for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday but not for Thursday (Thursday = Tuesday + 2 days).
This means the shipping date can be set on a Monday as follows:

  • before 12:00:00 to Tuesday
  • after 12:00:00 to Wednesday
