Definition

The significance describes the accuracy of the collection of statistics. You can determine the accuracy of the analysis by selecting numbers (depending on the DB system).

ORACLE
This field is not used. The fields AMETH and OPTIO specify the degree of significance instead.

INFORMIX
Possible values are:

  • 1: Update Statistics HIGH for all index columns
  • 2: Update Statistics HIGH for leading index columns,
    MEDIUM for all other index columns (default)

ADABAS
This field is not used.

DB2/390
Possible values are:

  • 1: Update Statistics with high accuracy
  • 2: Update Statistics with medium accuracy
  • 3: Update Statistics with minimum accuracy
    The analysis methods differ by what percentage of data records in a table are used to determine statistics. The values can be maintained in Transaction DB2J (under "Runstats" in the "Profile parameter" screen).
