ORACLE:
In the Oracle environment, this field is used as an indicator for the peformance of the statistics check (and then of updating them if necessary). In this way, you can force a check of the statistics once, although the ACTIVE flag is set to "I". The flag is reset by BRCONNECT afterwards.
