Definition

Type of numbering range for this monitoring tree element (MTE). Each MTE has a number that is unique within the monitoring context. This number is part of the UID, the unique internal identification of an MTE.

The number range type can be either:

• Temporary: In this case, the number range is managed by the monitoring architecture. The data supplier that creates the MTE does not need to assign a number or otherwise manage the number range. Such MTEs and all reported data and alerts are deleted if the instance on which they reside is restarted. The MTEs are then re-created when the data supplier next runs.
• Permanent: In this case, the data supplier must manage the number range and ensure assignment of numbers that are unique within the monitoring context and number range. A permanent number range must be assigned to you by the CCMS. Permanent MTEs and their data and alerts survive instance and system restarts.
