Definition

An MTE class is a container for the general properties assigned to an MTE, such as the method assignments and the descriptive T100 message associated with an MTE.

For administrators, the MTE class provides a handle for accessing, changing, and saving the general properties of an MTE. The MTE class also enables sharing of general properties across multiple instances of an MTE, such as the CPU MTE for each server in a system.

The MTE class is assigned by the data supplier that creates an MTE. Normally, each type of MTE has its own MTE class. The same class name should not, for example, be shared hierarchically among a monitoring object and its underlying attributes. Text shared with ALMTECLASS.
