Definition

You can control the generation of alerts by influencing the criticality that is reported with each status message. Note that each setting only applies to the monitoring attribute you have selected.

Procedure

You can choose from one of the following:

• Accept value unchanged to use the value reported by the application for a message. The default value for that message remains unchanged. This is the default option for the alert monitor.
• Shift red to yellow to display all reported red messages as yellow alerts. The alert monitor therefore only displays yellow alerts. No red alert messages are logged.
• Shift yellow to red to display all reported yellow messages as red alerts. The alert monitor therefore only displays red alerts. All yellow messages that are reported are logged as red alerts.
• Shift red to yellow and yellow to green to reduce the severity of each reported message. The alert monitor therefore displays incoming red messages as yellow alerts, and incoming yellow messages as green alerts.
