Definition
Refers to the code that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assigns to your media when it returns the media to you as a result of processing errors. Along with the faulty media, the IRS sends you a media tracking slip (form 9267). The alpha replacement code is the alphanumeric character that appears on the form directly after your transmitter control code (TCC).
Procedure
You must enter the alpha replacement code if you need to send a replacement file to the IRS.
