Definition

A report definition is the basis of reports of the Central Performance History (CPH). A definition of this type specifies which MTE classes are output in reports that are based on this definition. The report definition also contains information about the aggregate type and resolution that are used for the report.

Use

The report definition threfore contains the information about the report that does not change when the report is executed repeatedly. By disconnecting the creation of the report definition from the execution of the report, you can repeatedly execute a report definition manually or automatically, without having to deal with the data basis or its formatting.

Dependencies

On the other hand, a report definition does not include:

• The period from which the performance values in the report are taken
• The performance values for the MTE classes selected for the report
• The time at which the report is to be executed or information about repeated scheduling of the report as a job
