Definition
The alert monitor compares reported performance values with the threshold values that you have specified. Here you specify which value to compare to the threshold values. An alert is triggered if values exceed (or, where appropriate, fall short of) the specified threshold values.
You can choose from the following:
- Last reported value compares the threshold values with the last performance value that was reported to the alert monitor. This is the default option for the alert monitor.
- Average in the last hour compares the threshold values with the average value reported to the alert monitor for the last full hour. The system calculates this value at the end of the last minute in the hour.
- Average in the last quarter of an hour compares the threshold values with the average value reported to the alert monitor for the last full quarter of an hour. The system calculates this value at the end of every fifteenth minute.
- Smoothing over last 1 min. compares the threshold values with a "sliding window" of the values received over the last completed minute.
- Smoothing over last 5 min. compares the threshold values with a "sliding window" of the values reported to the alert monitor over the last five full minutes.
- Smoothing over last 15 mins compares the threshold values with a "sliding window" of the values reported to the alert monitor over the last fifteen minutes.
