Definition
The reference field is a specific source field for a target field belonging to an archive info structure. From it the system transfers the contents to the accomanying target field. Furthermore, the reference field defines the datatype and the short text belonging to the target field in the info structure and the generated database table.
The assignment of a target field to the reference field is defined in the field catalog.
