Documentation
Definition
The field catalog defines for each field whether that field is automatically incorporated into a newly created info structure, or whether it is optional. Fields which are incorporated automatically cannot be removed from the info structure.
Maintaining an Info Structure
The system displays whether a field is automatically incorporated or whether it is optional.
Note that if you choose to include optional key fields, this can have a significant affect on the amount of data written. However, it may be necessary to include such a field if you want to include its dependent fields in the info structure.
Maintaining a Field Catalog
If the field is selected ("X"), then you can select the accompanying field when creating an info structure. Otherwise the field will be incorporated automatically.
