Definition

You can use the minimum residence time to define a lower limit for the residence times that can be set in the archiving Customizing settings. This applies to the residence times in global Customizing as well as the archiving object-specific residence times.

Unlike the residence times above, the minimum residence time is entered in the unit (days) immediately.

Various programs access archived data, which affects performance. The minimum residence time is used to reduce the amount of access required. The archive cannot be accessed until the minimum residence time has elapsed.

If you have already archived data for individual archiving objects, you may not extend the minimum residence time of these archiving objects.
