Definition
Specified Shipping Method Code is the method used for transporting a given shipment from the supplier's facility plus the method for paying the transportation costs.
Use
Payment Method for Shipping Costs
A - Freight allowance on collect shipment subsequent bill to include credit for the amount of the allowance
B - Prepaid shipment to destination (subsequent billing to customer).
C - Collect shipment (transportation charge only).
F - Freight allowance on prepaid shipment (subsequent billing to customer for charges in excess of the allowance).
N - Non-Revenue (per customer instructions).
P - Prepaid shipment (FOB destination).
V - Used with Shipping Method Codes: CS, SA, SP, SS Only.
X - Collect Shipment (material and transportation)
Dependencies
Must be used only where there is no standard established with the supplier.
