Definition

Replacing Part Number is the identity of the new part replacing the subject part which is

1. Currently established in the Procurement Data and/or Provisioning V File or
2. Currently on order for parts or repair/overhaul services with the supplier

Use

A replacing part number can be used in two ways:

• RPN is added to an existing record as the price and lead time still applies to the original part number
• Only the RPN is referenced. The original part number is deleted and a part number history record is established.

Dependencies

• Required to be used alongwith the Interchangeability Code (INC) TEI.
• Manufacturer Code (MFR) is required unless it is identical to the Supplier Code (SPL).
• Replacing part number changes must also show order number, original part number and replacing part number (RPN).
