Definition

Remarks Text provides miscellaneous information not otherwise provided for by dedicated Text Element Identifiers (TEI's) in variable record systems.

Use

Used in conjunction with the Replacing Part Data Text (RPD) TEI to indicate an order exception such as a part number not available on the Central Procurement Data Base.

Dependencies

  1. Though a multiple type TEI, Remarks Text is limited to five occurences in both Procurement Data Records and P1UPDATE on-line messages. In other applications, the occurrences are limited to ten.
  2. In any application, Remarks Text TEI's are always transmitted last in a given record or on-line message. Each occurence is transmitted as a new separate line starting with TEI "REM" and ending with "/(CRLF)" or if the last line, "(CRLF)" only.
  3. Remarks Text (REM) use is mandatory if Adjustment Sequence (ADS) or Reference Invoice Number (RIN) is transmitted.
