Definition

The name of a resource used in XML based archiving.

Only the following characters are permitted: 0 ... 9 a ... z A ... Z _ - . ! ~
Of these, the character _ is reserved as the first character by XML DAS, that is, it cannot be used at the beginning of a resource name.

Capitalization is not significant, meaning that MyRes = MYRES.

XML DAS returns resource names and the URIs they contain in lower case letters.

Use

"Resource" is a general term used for a data object that has been archived using XML DAS; it can be an XML document (XML), XML schema (XSD), style sheet (XSL) or an untyped object (BIN), for example. Resources can be named either by the application or by XML DAS (called auto naming).
