Definition
Flags the appropriate fields in the dangerous goods master so that they are updated during the course of filling or distribution.
Use
The Update indicator is used in filling and/or distribution of data records from the dangerous goods master. You only set this indicator if the appropriate field is relevant for update.
Further notes
This procedure is necessary, otherwise the system cannot identify whether a field is relevant for update.
If you do not enter any data in a field, the system reads this as being a valid value. The system must also be able to identify whether a 'zero' value can be entered as an initial value, or as an actual or valid value.
Dependencies
If the Update indicator is set, the old value is overwritten in the target system during the next filling or distribution. You can thus decide which part of a dangerous goods master data record or which fields of a dangerous goods master data record are to be changed.
