Definition

Material group made up entirely of additionals.

Use

Additionals are materials that lend themselves well to being grouped in material groups. When creating these material groups, please note the following:

  • In Customizing you must assign the same message type to all the additionals in a material group.

  • How the system determines the number of additionals to be produced is defined at the level of the additionals' material group.
  • You can enter a default value for the procedure for additionals. This makes it easier to enter additionals in the material master.
  • You must enter a message type for deliveries. Messages for deliveries are generated as a result of the follow-up action "Generate additionals IDoc from delivery message (output).
  • You must enter data on vendor selection, purchase organization, document category and account assignment category so that additionals can be ordered automatically.
  • For analyses in the Retail Information System to function properly, you must enter default values for determination of the processing time for the storage type and for accessing conditions for material and labor costs.

For this reason, do not assign additionals with very different data to the same material group (clothes hangers and shelf-edge labels should not be in the same material group, for example).

Example

If you had lots of different kinds of additionals, you could define the following material groups:

  • Shelf-edge labels
  • Individual labels
  • Security tags
  • Clothes hangers for ladieswear
  • Clothes hangers for menswear
  • Clothes hangers for children's wear
  • Multipurpose clothes hangers
  • Grips and clips (for ease of transportation)
  • Packaging (for own-brand goods, for example)
  • Services (such as pressing clothing for display or arranging it on hangers)
