Definition
Field name in a change document. Changes to the content of the field are analyzed.
Use
The field is used in the following:
- Change pointer analysis
Changes to master data or movement data (for example, in a material master record or purchase order) lead to change pointers being updated. The changed fields are then logged in the material master record or purchase order.
A list of fields has been defined for additionals that can be included when analyzing change pointers. You can find this list in the data dictionary (structure WTAD_CHANGE_MAIN).
All the fields in the list which you can assign to a merchandise category in Customizing can be compared to the change pointers when you analyze the change pointers. If any fields are changed, an additionals IDoc containing the current data is generated.
You can add fields which are not found in the structure of the standard system to the change pointer analysis using user exits EXIT_SAPLWTIP_002 and EXIT_SAPLWTIP_003.
- Preparing the assortment lists
When you prepare an assortment IDoc, a change pointer analysis takes place. A relevance indicator is flagged for the stores concerned if the data content of any relevant fields has changed.
