Definition
The withholding tax code stands for a tax category that has to be taken into account when notifying financial institutions of tax.
The Tax Codes are different for each country. For each tax code, the Tax Rate, of the share to be taxed and other properites are set in the invoice.
Note
When tax changes are implemented by government authorities, new tax codes have to be defined. The old tax codes must be kept until all open items have been processed that use these codes.
