Definition

The following are defined in the selection method:

  • From which data source (table) the data to be transferred is selected
  • How the accrual is to take place. In other words, conversion of the selected data to the format required by the Accrual Engine.
    In this conversion, you define, for example, the period over which the accrual is to take place.

Use

Selection methods enable you to transfer data from the data source of your choice into the Accrual Engine in order to carry out accruals.

To do this, customers have to create their own selection methods in Customizing, meaning that corresponding function modules have to be programmed.

SAP delivers sample selection methods. These can be used as templates for customer-specific selection methods.
