Definition

A group of employees in charge of shipment activities.

Use

Each shipment is assigned to a specific transportation planning point to execute the transportation planning. It is used to determine the area of responsibility for transportation processing. In transportation processing it can be used as selection criterion to create a list of shipments to be edited, for example.

Examples

There may, for instance, be a transportation planning point in charge of marine transport in a company and another one in charge of road transports. Transportation planning point can also be defined regarding their geographic location.

Dependencies

Before a transportation planning point can execute the transportation planning it must be configured in Customizing.
