A shipment type is a specific type of transportation processing.

Use

By means of the shipment type fundamental control characteristics for transportation processing are defined, such as:
- the number range to assign the shipment number
- document specifications like handling type, processing control,
- control information like output determination procedure, text determination procedure
- proposal values like shipping type, service level, leg indicator, etc.

Procedure

When you create a shipment you need to enter a specific shipment type.

Examples

Road transport:
-For a collective shipment the system shall determine the shipment type
according to a special rule.
- Individual shipment as a preliminary leg of a marine transport

Marine transport:
Specific message are required for processing.

Rail shipment:
Specific texts are required to completely print the rail consignment note.

Dependencies
