If you have not created a material group hierarchy in the class system, you maintain the material groups in Customizing of the material master under Define material groups.

When you have determined a material group hierarchy (which is usually the case in Retail), you either maintain material groups in Customizing of the material group, or by choosing master data, starting from the initial screen Retail.

Prerequisite

Your system is configured as an SAP Retail System.
