Definition

This field contains the type for a packing proposal of Vehicle Space Optimization. You can select among the following types:

  • Predefined packing proposal, material- and delivery-related
  • Mixed packing proposal
  • Packing proposal with closed packing

Use

A predefined packing proposal consists of exactly one item, thus containing exactly one material, and refers to exactly one delivery. The quantity corresponds to the product of layers and number per layer as defined in the packaging material properties of the packing group for the material, and results in a full packing proposal according to these predefined specifications. Such a predefined packing proposal can be directly removed from the warehouse without any manual picking.

Mixed packing proposals can contain different materials, or exactly one material that refers to several deliveries, or exactly one material for one delivery without reaching the complete quantity. Mixed packing proposals usually require manual picking.

Some materials need special packaging materials in the form of closed packings.
