Documentation
Definition
Specifies the specification type as external. The specification is a purchased article and its data are delivered by the supplier.
Each specification type must be assigned to at least one specification category. Further minor groupings within specification categories are formed by specification types that determine which role a specification can assume in specification management.
Use
You can, for example, specify for each specification type the property trees available for selection and whether materials can be assigned to a specification type.
Dependencies
You can specify checks for the specification type in Customizing for SAP Product and REACH Compliance under Checks -> Specify Checks and Single Criteria. The system then checks whether the specification key entered by the user for this specification type is syntactically correct.
You can specify additional attributes for specification types in Customizing for SAP Product and REACH Compliance under Product Database -> Specify Material Categories and Specification Types.
