Definition
Specifies a regulatory list or a customer-specific list of substances with constraints.
Use
If you specify a regulatory or customer-specific list, the system proceeds as follows to check whether a product violates any regulations:
- If necessary, it determines all homogeneous materials contained in the product, that is, all materials that cannot be disjointed into different materials.
- It determines the quantity of each substance in the list that is contained in these materials.
- It checks whether the quantity of a substance exceeds the corresponding threshold for at least one of the materials.
- It checks whether any substance that exceeds the threshold is classified as prohibited or declarable according to the list.
Dependencies
As lists of substances with constraints are always based on legal or company regulations, they are only valid for certain regions.
Example
The following substances with constraints are, for example, contained in the regulatory RoHS list:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Hexavalent chromium
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
