Specifies the the Regulated Substances and Recyclability Certification (RSRC) disassembly category from Daimler Chrysler. These categories are used in the automotive sector. The following disassembly categories are used:
Category Description Example
1 It is possible to remove the part or material manually in one minute or less easily Clip on pillar trim
2 It is possible to remove the part or material manually in one to three minutes with a little effort Fan shroud
3 It is possible to separate the materials mechanically or by shredding economically Seat assemblies or windshield glass
4 The mechanical or shredding technology is under development instrument panel
5 There is no known process to separate the part or material heated backlit glass or electronic components
