Definition
Number of time units in the future that would safely provide enough time to complete a process that is due for completion. In case of unchecked deliveries, they are partially converted to checked deliveries before this limit is reached as there is enough time to fulfill the delivery date. Any item that cannot be converted is communicated back to the order system with quantity zero.
The time unit reduces the communication for an unchecked delivery and the CRM sales order at the time of conversion from unchecked to checked deliveries. The following possibilities exist:
- The system deletes the unchecked delivery and sends the information to the CRM sales order if the available-to-promise (ATP) check is not successful. The CRM sales order can then do a new sourcing of the sales order item and a new unchecked delivery can be created.
- The system does not delete the unchecked delivery if the time unit is not reached, and the unchecked delivery is available for conversion the next time the conversion is called.
Any time period less than the specified number of time units counts as critical because task completion is at risk. This number of time units determines the point at which the traffic light changes from yellow to green.
