Definition

Five parameter types are used in SAP Event Management: info parameter, control parameter, system parameter, rule processing parameter, and event message parameter.

Info parameters carry all the additional information that has to be kept with the event handler (for example, name of the carrier, hazmat class of transported goods, and so on). Info parameters are delivered by SAP and can also be created by customers. An info parameter may be used in rule processing if the info parameter has been enabled for condition processing.

Rule processing parameters are parameters that may be used in rule processing. The parameter has been enabled for use in condition processing.

Control parameters are created by SAP and can also be created by customers. Control parameters are used for event handler type determination in conjunction with system parameters and define the characteristics of the event handler.

System parameters are all parameters that go directly into the corresponding fields of the event handler header (for example, origin ID, destination ID, and carrier ID). System parameters cannot be extended by customers and are fully predefined by SAP.

Event message parameters are parameters that go directly into the corresponding fields of the event message header. The event message extension can be defined by customers.
