Definition
If you do not have a unique tracking ID, e.g. the same bill of loading for several carriers, you need the following information to provide a unique identification for the tracking ID:
- the identification of the organization that issued this tracking ID (e.g. provider code ID UPS for organization UPS)
- the code set that describes to which type of organization the issuer belongs. The identification of the issuer must be unique within this code set (e.g. provider code set for the organization type parcel service).
