Definition

Describes the type of business process or object that an event handler is referenced to. In an application system, the business process type (BPT) is closely related to a SAP business object.

The BPT is an Event Manager owned attribute that may represent process characteristics of the application in an abstract form, to allow usage of the Event Manager independently of SAP R/3.

The alternative BPT can be assigned to an application object type to allow the BPT, under which the application object is defined, to be overridden. The purpose is a diversification of BPTs in the Event Manager which can speed up the event handler type determination process.
