Definition

The RFC desination defines the connection to a remote system. You can set up a connection to another SAP system or client within the system landscape by means of an RFC destination.

The RFC destination has the connection type '3' = ABAP in the PPO context.

Use this RFC destination to load technical data (noncritical business-related data) in the background to the Postprocessing Desktop. Noncritical means that no access authorizations are allowed to exist. In transaction SM59, on the tab page 'Logon & Security' the RFC user can have generic authorizations, that means characteristic values for complete access authorizations.

On the other hand, access authorizations must be defined for users of the Postprocessing Desktiop in the remote system for RFC destination dialog. This grants the user partial access to the business-related data in the remote system.

Use

- PPO postprocessing orders from the remote systems can be loaded to the Postprocessing Desktop and processed.

- In the Postprocessing Desktop, Business Objects that are relevent to eliminating errors can be processed in remote systems.
