Use
There are the following different partners:
- Internal partner
- Internal partners could be subsidiaries or branches.
- External partner
- External partners could be third-party enterprises with which your enterprise cooperates.
- Corporate partner
- You use corporate partners if you have not created any other partners as internal partners that you can use for postings.

You have already created the partner you use here as a customer in the master data for Financial Accounting.

The corporate partner is defined as a global parameter of the JVA company depending on the company code in Customizing for Joint Venture Accounting under Environment -> JVA Company Configuration -> Global Data.

Use
The partner company code is used for the following purposes:
- To differentiate internal and external partners in a joint venture
- Check the project-oriented enterprise structure with regard to consistency and completeness of the partner master data
- Reporting
Enter the following data:
- If the joint venture partner is an internal partner and not a corporate partner, assign the company code as a partner company code in which this partner is entered in the system.
- If the joint venture partner is an external partner, no partner company code exists. The partner company code is initial, in other words you leave the entry for partner company code blank.
- If the joint venture partner is a corporate partner assign (as partner company code) the company code in which the corporate partner is used.
