Use

There are several venture types:

  • Operated Venture (without tax)
    • For this venture type the venture is lead by your company within the Joint Venture Accounting (CA-JVA) component.
    • It is not possible to assign a tax code to an operated venture without tax.
    • This venture enables the carried equity and net profit interest of partners, as well as the suspension of partners.
  • Operated venture (with tax)
    • You can assign a tax code to an operated venture with tax.
    • Neither carried equity or net profit interest of partners, nor the suspension of partners is allowed for this venture type.
  • Non-operated venture
    • For this venture type, the venture is lead by a another company and the operated share is managed within the Joint Venture Accounting (CA-JVA) component.
    • The operator calculates the company's share in the venture costs and venture revenues.
  • Non-operated venture on-billing
    • For a non-operated venture on-billing, the company implementing the Joint Venture Accounting (CA-JVA) component distributes its operated share to several partners, in other words, it clears the venture costs and proportional revenues invoiced by the operator. In actual fact, the company itself acts as operator for the partners.
  • Corporate Venture
    • All data from Joint Venture Accounting (CA-JVA) is transferred to a corporate venture, which originates from objects without venture assignments, in other words you post to the dummy venture if the system cannot create any other venture.
    • You define the default value for the corporate venture and equity group for the joint venture enterprise in Customizing for Joint Venture Accounting (CA-JVA).

Dependencies

The venture type is defined in the joint venture master data profile.
