Documentation
Definition
Specifies in which circumstances the child object of a relation is displayed.
Use
The following settings are available:
- Display always
The system always displays the children of an object type relation in the view variant.
- Hide in Case of Uniqueness
If the relation returns only one child object, this object is not shown. The system processes the next relation that has this child object type as the parent object type automatically.
If the relation returns more than one child object of the same object type, all the child objects are displayed.
- Display Never
The Object Exlorer considers the relation, but does not display its children in the view variant. If you want to drill down to an object type that is indirectly related to another object type in a view, but do not want to display the intermediary object, you should make this setting for the relation in which th intermediary object type is the child object type.
Dependencies
Example
You have the following relations:
- A -> B
- B -> C
- C -> D
You want to always show B, and be able to drill down to the object type D for the C object type that is related to B. However, you do not want to display C. That is, in the view, the drill down should appear to be directly from B to D.
You make the following settings:
- For relation A -> B (child object type B): Display Always
- For relation B -> C (child object type C): Display Never
- For relation C -> D (child object type D): Display Always
