For each field in the identification matrix, you can define whether the field content of text fields is to be reduced to the specified number ofcharacters before the search for, or identification of, the points of delivery.

Use

Note the value range. If you enter 999, then the corresponding text field is not shortened.

Dependencies

If you mark this field, you can improve the hit ratio for the point of delivery identification, because the algorithm is more tolerant of varied spellings.

Example

If the first names Hans and Hans Friedrich are to be classed as matching in a field comparison, you can shorten the field length for 'NAME2' to 4 relevant characters in the identification processing step.
