Definition
In the EU, the excise duty number identifies an authorized tax warehouse.
(Up to June 30, 2008, the tax warehouse number was allocated independently of the tax type, but was subject to special authorization for each tax type.)
Since July 01, 2008, the excise duty number identifies the tax warehouse ("plant") as well as the respective tax type ("procedure").
Goods movements between tax warehouses take place under duty suspension.
