In this field, you specify the technical interface that the system will use to retrieve data from the BI query. The following interface types are available:

Dependencies
If you want to access a BI query using the MDX interface, you must select the Allow External Access by OLE DB for OLAP checkbox in the BEx Query Designer.
If you want to access a BI query using the Easy Query interface, you must select the Allow External Access by Easy Query checkbox in the BEx Query Designer.
