Definition
Time at which data is entered in the system.
Use
The system saves market data in application component CA-FS-MKD with two times:
- The validity date (quotation time) of the market data value (for example, an exchange rate or an interest rate). In most cases, the quotation time is a date. You can also enter a time for interest rates.
- The date and time at which data is entered in the system.
This enables you to keep a version history. When you correct a market data value (an exchange rate or an interest rate, for example) for a specific validity date, the old value is not lost. The system creates a new version of the market data value for this validity date.
All transactions in the application component CA-FS-MKD that can be used to display market data contain as parameters the date and time of the system time up to which changes to the system are taken into account when you select data. You can display market data as it was available in the system before it was corrected.
Example
A valuation run in the log displays the system time for accessing market data (for example, the start time of the run). You can now display the market data actually used by the valuation run even if the market data has since been corrected. To do this, enter the time that you want to access the market data (such as the start time of the run) as the system time parameter.
