Definition

An indicator showing whether or not dependent components should be notified.

• '0' -switched OFF, no notification
• '1' - switched on; the user is notified by means of a message in his/her inbox. In this case, you have to make sure that the appropriate recipients and recipient groups have been defined correctly in the correction server. The person who is to make the correction must also have specified his/her e-mail address correctly in his/her user data. This information is required by the Exchange Server.

If you have switched ON this indicator, the subsequent process will

depend on whether or not data flow management has been activated.

• If data flow management has been deactivated for the current dependency, and a correction has to be made, then the person who needs to make this correction receives notification. However, no information about the possibly temporarily inconsistent entities can be provided in this notification because there is no data flow management.
• If data flow management has been activated for the current dependency, and a correction has to be made, then the person who needs to make this correction receives notification, including the names of the possibly temporarily inconsistent entities affected. For this to happen, the dependent component must have read the corrected entitiy beforehand. If the corrected entity was not read by the dependent entity, no notification will be sent.

The notification message gives the recipient information as to which entities might have become temporarily inconsistent as the result of a correction. You cannot switch on this notification indicator if you do not specify a target address.
