Definition

An additional key used for storing and updating the exchange rates of a fixed rate category in the exchange rate table of the cross-application currency translation function.

Use

If you want the exchange rates of a fixed rate category to be updated in the exchange rate table of the cross-application currency translation function in addition to the information specified in the Rate Type field, enter a rate type in the Rate Type (Not Fixed) field. The same update rules apply as for the Rate Type field.

If you specify a rate type in the Rate Type (Not Fixed) field, this will block the update of exchange rates of another rate category in this rate type for all currency pairs with fixed exchange rates.

Example

A fixed rate category contains the fixed rates for countries in the euro area. This category contains the exchange rates between the former national currencies of these countries and the euro. If you enter the rate type "EURO" and the non-fixed rate type "EURX", the fixed exchange rates will be copied to these rate types.

If you specify rate type "EURX" for another rate category, and if you enter the exchange rate DEM -> EUR by mistake there, this rate will not be copied to rate type "EURX".
