Use
This business add-in (BAdI) is used in the component Warranty Claim Processing.
You can use this BAdI to change the standard search help when you call the F4 help in connection with the warranty object or to replace the standard search help with a customer-specific one and/or to influence certain checks connected with it.
This BAdI has the following methods:
- CHANGE_RELOB
This method is run through when you choose the F4 help function for the field External object number in the warranty claim. The object search is executed differently according to the object type.
- CHANGE_RELTY_MODEL
This method is run through when you choose the F4 help function for the field Model in the IMG activity Define Template Objects. The model search is executed differently according to the object type since the object that is interpreted as model is dependent on the object type.
- MODEL_CHECK
This method is run through after the model has been assigned to an object type in the IMG activity Define Template Objects.
In this method the system checks whether the given model exists. If it does not exist, an error message is displayed.
- CHANGE_RELOB_RELTY_MODEL
This method is run through when you choose the F4 help function on the field Template Object in the IMG activity Define Template Objects. The template object search is executed differently according to the object type.
- RELOB_MODEL_CHECK
This method is run through when you maintain the template objects for a model in the IMG activity Define Template Objects.
The system checks whether a template object of the same Level has already been created within the model. If a template object already exists, an error message is displayed since only one template object can be defined for each combination of model and level.
Requirements
Standard settings
In the default implementation a search help appropriate to the object type is called, i.e.: the equipment search help for the object type Equipment, the vehicle search help for the object type Vehicle (only with SAP Discrete Industries) and so on.
In the same way, a different search help for the model is called depending on the object type:
- Object type Vehicle: vehicle master material number search (only with SAP Discrete Industries)
- Object type Equipment, functional location: search for the object type of the technical object
- Object type Installed base: installed base category search

Example
For example, you can define and save search helps and checks for objects that belong to your own customer-specific object types (object type Other).
